Generosity

Why we <span style="color:var(--primary-color-bg)">give</span>.

Why we give.

Our heavenly Father is a generous God! We cannot 'out-give' Him: the greatest act of generosity was the Father sending His Son so all who believe could have eternal life with Him (John 3:16-17). Our giving is an act that flows from a generous and thankful heart, a response to God's overwhelming generosity and goodness. The attitude and act work together as an act of worship.

Giving is a selfless action that seeks the betterment of others. It can be through prayer as we spend time with God, lifting the needs of others before Him. It can be through our actions, as we help those in need or serve in a role in the church. As we share in your God-given gifts and talents, we give glory to God and encourage others.

What we have is a gift from God and we are His stewards. Whether we have much or a little, we can all give to the work of the church and other God-honouring organisations that share the Good News of the gospel and transform the community in the name of Jesus Christ.

Colossians 3:23-24

Why we serve.

As followers of Jesus, serving is not just something we do - it's a part of who we are. We express our love for one another by the way we serve one another. There are numerous ways in which we can serve the church and the wider community.

Some roles are required every week, others less often. There are a wide variety of opportunities, although this is not an exhaustive list.

As you consider the opportunities below, we encourage you to listen to the Holy Spirit for where He is inviting you to contribute: it may not be an area you would initially choose, or naturally gifted in. As part of the team, each person not only serves the Lord but serves each other by bringing our best and giving our best.
